Jammu, Dec 03 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, approved the creation of an Animal Welfare Board and changes in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) list on Wednesday.
The Cabinet meeting, held at the Chief Minister's residence in Jammu, discussed a range of administrative matters, including electricity, reservation, and winter preparedness, sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
Cabinet Minister Javed Rana told reporters that the promotion proposals for R&B officers, including seniority confirmations, were cleared after detailed discussions. "Promotion and service-related matters of officers in the R&B Department were reviewed, and seniority confirmations have been approved," Rana said.
According to sources, financial support was sanctioned to cooperative societies working in the livestock and fisheries sectors. Rana said the Cabinet also approved the creation of an Animal Welfare Board.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the inclusion of two communities—Ahangar and Waghey/Chopan—in the OBC list—(KNO)
